Committees

The LSN Alumni Association has eight standing committees:

Annual Alumni Reunion – This group’s responsibilities include planning the Annual Reunion weekend, preparing and mailing invitations to alumni, decorating the hall with LSN memorabilia for the event, arranging for a photographer to take class photos, and preparing and organizing refreshments for the Hospitality Room for attendees of the Alumni Reunion.

By-Laws/Revisions – This group’s responsibilities include periodically reviewing the Association’s By-Laws and proposing revisions as necessary when recommendations or requests for revision are received.

Finance – This group’s responsibilities include preparing an annual budget for Board approval and presentation at the Annual meeting during the Alumni Reunion.

Membership – This group’s responsibilities include maintaining records of years of Alumni Association membership, updating and maintaining contact information for all alumni, preparing mailing labels for mailings from the Alumni Association, and collecting and preserving material of historical value. New responsibilities include updating and maintaining the alumni Facebook group and the Alumni website, www.alumnilsn.org.

Nominations – This group’s responsibilities include preparing a slate of Board candidates for presentation during the Annual meeting at the Alumni Reunion.

Publications – This group’s primary responsibility is preparing and mailing the Annual Bulletin. Class Reporters from every graduating year gather “Class News” from alumni, and then prepare the information received for inclusion in the Bulletin. This committee has a monumental load to carry, and volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

Scholarship – This group’s responsibilities include administering the Amelung-Richter Scholarship awards and the LSN Graduation Scholarship awards.

School Health Nursing – This is essentially a committee of one, whose responsibilities include being a liaison between the Alumni Association and the Missouri District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, concerning School Health nursing issues.
